Our Team

Heather Foote, CSW

Certified Social Worker

I help people alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, navigate relationships, and adjust to transitions through a collaborative and supportive process — so they can live happier, more connected lives.

Heather works with people who are running on survival — holding everything together, or convinced they can't handle one more thing. Her focus is anxiety, eating disorders, depression, and the identity and relationship questions that surface alongside them.

Who Heather works with

She sees preteens, teenagers, and adults, and she is particularly good with people who feel isolated in a world that keeps changing on them. That includes clients navigating anxiety, eating disorders, depression, grief, trauma, family conflict, and the loneliness that rarely gets named as the reason someone came in.

Her practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, and she works with clients whose emotional range has narrowed to either too much feeling or none at all.

How Heather works

Her starting position is that you are the expert on your own life and story — her job is to stand next to you while you work on it, not to hand down a plan. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so the first sessions are spent finding out what actually helps you.

From there she combines talk therapy — CBT, DBT, person-centered and compassion-focused work, Internal Family Systems, and motivational interviewing — with ILF neurofeedback and EMDR/ART, so treatment can reach both the thoughts and the nervous system underneath them.

Training and background

Heather earned her Master of Social Work at the University of New England and holds a 2024 certificate in EMDR/ART trauma therapy along with ILF neurofeedback certification.

She serves Bountiful and surrounding Davis County, with telehealth throughout Utah and Idaho.

Starting with Heather

The first session is mostly about what brought you in. From there the two of you pick the methods most likely to help, and adjust as you learn more — she treats the plan as something to revise, not defend.

She is candid that reaching out takes both strength and a fair amount of vulnerability, and she doesn't take it lightly when someone does. A free 15-minute consultation is the easiest way to see whether she's the right fit.
