Our Team
Dr. Victoria Brown, DBH, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
“I help adults and teens who have experienced traumatic events, suffer from stress-related illness, and mental health difficulties grow, heal, and overcome.”
Dr. Brown works with people carrying the weight of trauma, stress-related illness, and major life change — often after other approaches have only gone so far. She has practiced for 27 years, and as the practice's clinical supervisor she also oversees Rising Minds' pre-licensed therapists.
Who Dr. Brown works with
She sees teens and adults, and most of her caseload centers on trauma and PTSD, depression, and anxiety. In practice that means people in recovery, people going through divorce or loss, people adjusting to a body or a life that changed after a medical event, and abuse survivors who have often never said any of it out loud.
Colleagues also refer her the complicated cases — traumatic brain injury, autism, executive-functioning difficulties, and physical symptoms that turn out to be tangled up with emotional ones.
She is open about having faced hard things herself, and she is direct about what therapy is for: not reliving what happened, but getting to a point where it stops running your day.
How Dr. Brown works
No single method fits everyone, so she keeps several. ILF (infra-low) and microcurrent neurofeedback settle a nervous system that has been running hot for years. EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy process the memories underneath. CBT and DBT skills build day-to-day footing, motivational interviewing creates momentum, and sometimes what helps most is simply talking it through.
Which combination you use is a decision the two of you make together, and it changes as you do.
Training and supervision
Dr. Brown earned her Doctor of Behavioral Health at Arizona State University and her MSW at the University of Utah. She has been certified in neurofeedback since 2007, EMDR trained since 2014, and ART trained since 2023.
As Rising Minds' clinical supervisor, she oversees the practice's pre-licensed clinicians — so their work is reviewed by someone with 27 years behind it. She sees clients in person in Bountiful and via telehealth across Utah and Idaho.
Starting with Dr. Brown
The first step is a free 15-minute consultation — a short conversation to describe what's going on, ask whatever you want to ask, and decide whether she's the right fit before you commit to anything. If she isn't, she will say so and help you find someone who is.
She has a line she comes back to with people who have been putting this off for years: the best time to plant a tree was ten years ago, and the second best time is now. Sessions are in her office in Bountiful, or by video anywhere in Utah or Idaho.
